OmniTRAX continues to grow. A managed affiliate of one of the largest privately held rail transportation and logistics service companies in North America is set up to acquire Cleveland Commercial Railroad and Cleveland Harbor Belt Railroad. The deal is expected to be finalized in late August. According to Kevin Shuba, CEO of OmniTRAX, the rail giant has been growing more than 20 percent annually over the last five years.

Cleveland Commercial, which will be Cleveland & Cuyahoga Railway, LLC, once the deal with OmniTRAX is completed, has 35 miles of track in northern Ohio and Cleveland Harbor handles the rail switching service at the Port of Cleveland. Cleveland Harbor will change its name to Cleveland Port Railway, LLC. Cleveland Commercial interchanges with Norfolk Southern and Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway, while Cleveland Harbor works with Norfolk Southern and CSX.

OmniTRAX is certainly familiar with the Ohio region. It has operated the Newburgh & South Shore Railroad in Cleveland and the Northern Ohio and Western Railway in Toledo for more than 20 years. The lines serve the Midwest and Great Lakes, which will benefit OmniTRAX customers by offering them a critical economic network.
