RELAM Expanding Hi-Rail Truck Business

Railway Equipment Leasing And Maintenance (RELAM) Inc. on Jan. 5 reported its acquisition of Wiskerchen Truck & Equipment, LLC and Wiskerchen Rental & Leasing, LLC, (Wiskerchen), which specialize in the sale, service, rental and leasing of hi-rail trucks and truck equipment.

NRC Conference & NRC-REMSA Exhibition Kick off in Boca Raton

The National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) conference and NRC-Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association (REMSA) kicked off in Boca Raton, Fla. today as railroad construction and MOW officials, equipment suppliers, and others gathered in this oceanside community just north of Miami.

Report: NCTD, Del Mar at Odds, Again

North County Transit District (NCTD) and the city of Del Mar, Calif., disagree on how to spend a $300 million grant from the state’s Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune.

The Railway & Locomotive Historical Society (R&LHS) has announced the addition of a seventh category to its Railway History Awards. Recognizing “excellence in magazine journalism devoted to past or present passenger rail service,” it is the William F. Howes Jr. Passenger Rail Article Award.

RIDOT Sets Opening Date for MBTA Pawtucket Station

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) recently announced that the Pawtucket-Central Falls train station, which will connect the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s (MBTA) Commuter Rail service with the R.I. Public Transit Authority’s bus service at Pine Street in Pawtucket, could open on Jan. 23, according to a 12 News report.
