Unit Rail acquires track fastener-maker Advanced Track Products

Written by jrood

Unit Rail, the rail fastening division of Amsted Rail, has acquired Advanced Track Products. ATP is a leading provider of fasteners in the transit rail market.

This is a strategic
addition for Unit Rail. ATP’s products resiliently support the rail or track
structure as well as provide electrical isolation. Whether the application is
ballasted or ballastless, ATP has a solution for at-grade, in-tunnel, in-street
and structures. These products have demonstrated high performance and
ruggedness with more than 20 years of service. From transit/commuter to HAL freight,
the addition of ATP’s line of products allow Unit Rail to now offer solutions for
use in the transit/commuter markets, whereas our previous focus was exclusively
on the world’s freight markets.

The acquisition of ATP,
based in Mattituck, NY, will continue to broaden the product line currently
offered by Unit Rail, which includes fasteners for all tie types as well as all
tonnage and speed requirements.

"The joining of these two
companies will provide customers with a solid and stable supplier of top
quality products for all aspects of the rail industry" said Wes Hodges, vice
president and general manager, Unit Rail.

Bill Osler and Scott Osler
will continue running ATP, which will remain headquartered in its current
location, making the process nearly seamless for current customers.

"Advanced Track Products
sees this partnership as an opportunity for Amsted Rail to provide support for
the growth of the ATP product line, with ATP sharing its considerable
experience from the transit fastening market," said Bill Osler, president of
ATP.
