MADERA COUNTY, Calif. – California High-Speed Rail Authority opened Avenue 9 overcrossing to traffic.

California High-Speed Rail Authority opened Avenue 9 overcrossing to traffic. The overcrossing was designed and constructed by TPZP, Tutor-Perini/Zachry/Parsons and measures at 177 feet long and over 66 feet wide. Located east of SR99, the overcrossing is the 10^th high-speed rail structure this year completed in the Central Valley.

Central Valley Regional Director, Garth Fernandez remarked the “significant year of progress” and says they are remaining “committed to work diligently across the Valley, [plan to] complete more grade separations and open more roadways, all to ensure the safety of the community while were in construction and as we advance to deliver the nation’s first electrified high-speed rail system.”

California High-Speed Rail Authority has also completed overcrossings in Kings and Fresno Counties and grade separations in Kern County. In addition, the Cedar Viaduct was also completed last May. The Viaduct is a high-speed rail structure that will transport trains over SR99 in south Fresno.
