SURREY, British Columbia – King George Station reopened on June 9th after a six-week closure to allow for maintenance work and repairs.

During the closure, crews removed parts of the rail to allow for the replacement of two turnouts. TransLink reports this section had previously been in use for the last 30 years when the station first opened. In addition, crews made upgrades that included power rail work, installing cables, repairing elevators and escalators, upgrading the electrical and lighting, and cleaning the station.
