Look: Metra fixes tightest track curve; workers wear masks during pandemic

Chicago Metra workers have been busy replacing the Canal Street crossing just north of Chicago’s Union Station. It is the tightest track curve in the system. Once completed, it will provide a smoother and safer ride.

However, looking at two of the pictures that were posted on Twitter, workers are seen wearing face masks but many are not practicing social distancing. Metra emailed RT&S with a response to the photos and said the following: “Most of the workers are wearing masks, and many of them are 6 ft apart, and much of the work can’t be done 6 ft apart. The latest from our governor said, “individuals will be required to wear a face-covering or a mask when in a public place where they can’t maintain a 6-ft social distance.” Here are the pictures:
