Union Pacific derailment comes close to striking large propane tank
Written by RT&S StaffUnion Pacific has not set a timeline on when a line of track in Albany County, Wyo., will be reopened following a 57-car derailment over the weekend.
The cars that left the track were carrying grain, and crews were busy cleaning the area and repairing the track on Sunday. No one was injured in the accident.
The cause of the derailment is unknown. The train originated in North Platte, Neb., and was headed to Rawlins, Wyo.
Photos of the accident scene show one of the derailed cars came close to striking a large propane tank.
