ATLANTA –– The March 2024 edition of Railway Track and Structures is now online.

Our cover story this month is from Wheel/Rail Interaction, with a story about Squats and Studs: Emergent Damage Mechanisms on Rail Transit Systems.

We’re also introducing a new series entitled “RT&S Primer,” which are basic essays about different rail infrastructure topics for the new rail engineer. This month, we look at the “how and why” of rail lubrication.

We also have a wonderful piece on Artificial Intelligence and what it means for the railroad industry, prepared by the Transportation Technology Center. In addition, March is one of our two months of the year (August is the other) where we feature the ballast maintenance vendor-product spotlight. Lots of good information and good ideas to help maintain your road’s ballast in top shape.

This, plus our usual features make up the March issue. Enjoy!
