Elsie and Phyllis, two huge tunnel boring machines named after distinguished ladies in British Columbia history, are set to work on the metropolitan Vancouver Broadway Subway Project. Elsie has already started tunneling, and Phyllis is expected to begin in early 2023.
Construction for the Scarborough Subway Extension continues as crews dig even deeper to build the massive excavation needed for the project’s very large tunnel boring machine.
