MDOT Replaces Two Railroad Bridges in Jackson

LANSING, Mich. – Michigan Department of Transportation releases two timelapse videos showing the replacement of two railroad bridges in Jackson.

 

The Michigan Department of Transportation released two timelapse videos on Monday, showing its successful replacement of two-century-old railroad bridges. The railroad bridges, located in Jackson over Jackson and Mechanic Streets, were replaced during the week of August 9th through the 14th “during a 120-hour rail shutdown period.”

MDOT states that “Jackson, Mechanic, Detroit, and Van Buren streets will remain closed through the end of the project, which is expected to be completed on Sept. 30. Meanwhile, Blackman Street reopened on August 15th.”
