King George SkyTrain Station Will Close for Six Weeks for Maintenance

SURREY, British Columbia — From April 27th to mid-June, King George SkyTrain Station will be closed so crews can remove parts of rail to replace a turnout and complete other station upgrades.
On April 27th, King George SkyTrain Station in Surrey will be closed for six weeks for maintenance. During the closure, TransLink says there will be no service to or from the station, and the “Expo Line in Surrey will temporarily end at Surrey Central Station.”
The entire station will be closed so the upgrades can take place. The maintenance work includes removing sections of rail (that have been in use for 30 years) to replace a turnout. Additionally, crews will install cables, inspect elevators, clean the station, and make asset repairs. TransLink expects King George SkyTrain Station to reopen in the middle of June.
During the closure, riders can use alternative transportation via bus. Buses will run every 15 minutes from King George to Surrey Central stations from 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. during the week. The bus routes that would originally stop at King George Station will stop at that station and then extend north to Surrey Central Station.
