Capital Railroad Contracting Acquires Koppers Railroad Structures

MADISON, Wis. - Capital Railroad Contracting announced the acquisition of Koppers Railroad Structures.

The acquisition, in effect Aug. 29, continues Capital Railroad Contracting‘s commitment to growth and high-quality railroad construction and maintenance, according to the release. The location in Madison, Wis. is still “fully operational” while operating under the name Capital Railroad Services, Inc. This move positions Capital Railroad Services to continue serving its customers in the rail industry “with a focus on safety, efficiency, and long-term partnerships.”

Capital Railroad Services President Mike Tweet said, “This acquisition strengthens our ability to deliver innovative solutions, expands our capabilities, and allows us to continue providing the reliable service our customers have come to expect.”

“This acquisition will help expand the service offerings of Capital Railroad Services and continue to build upon the proud history of Koppers Railroad Structures and Capital Railroad Contracting.  We couldn’t be more excited for the future,” said Aaron Vollrath, who with Bob Gerke, are the owners of the acquiring company.
