The public will have the opportunity to comment on the six alternatives for L.A. Metro’s Sepulveda Transit Corridor Project.

The Sepulveda line will connect the San Fernando Valley with LAX.

The environmental review process is happening right now and public comment is open until Feb. 11. All six alternatives will go through environmental review.

The six alternatives are the following:

  • An automated monorail system that will be elevated along the I-405 corridor and the Metrolink Ventura County Line railroad tracks with an electric bus shuttle to UCLA;
  • An automated monorail system that will be elevated along the I-405 corridor and the Metrolink Ventura County Line railroad tracks with an elevated automated people mover connection to UCLA;
  • An automated monorail system that will have an elevated segment along the I-405 corridor, a tunnel section between Wilshire and Getty Center, and another vertical section along the I-405 and Van Nuys Metrolink Line railroad tracks;
  • A heavy rail system with a tunnel segment south of Ventura Boulevard and a elevated segment along Sepulveda Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley;
  • A heavy rail system with a tunnel along Sepulveda Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley; and
  • A heavy rail system that would be a tunnel and a southern terminus station on Bundy Drive on the Westside.

The project is expected to cost $9.5 billion and is funded by Measure M and state and federal dollars.
