NRC-REMSA Conference & Exhibition Wrapped Up This Weekend ~ Some HighlightsWritten by David C. Lester, Editor-in-Chief
BOCA RATON–As we reported last week, the 44th annual National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) and Railway Engineering-Maintenance Suppliers Association show was held in Boca Raton, Fla. from Jan. 4 – 7.
The gathering featured nearly 150 vendors showcasing their latest products and services, along with a variety of presentations, including a review of opportunities for contractors at Kansas City Southern, Florida East Coast, Patriot Rail, MxV Rail, and five Class I roads, among others.
While RT&S does not endorse or recommend the products and services presented in this story, we offer a general photo overview of several vendor booths. These images were made randomly as proximity and time allowed to give readers a sense of the show.

The HydraSkid 248 is pictured above, and is a patented hydraulic lifting device specifically engineered to raise and hold railroad diamonds, switches, retarders, and bridge ends to allow tamping machines to operate in the upright held position. The device can lift and hold 248 tons. With the proper safety protocols, a lift can pause slightly for a train to pass.
