DENVER, Colo. – RTD announces a repair of part of its L Line from July 10th to July 30th.

Rail repairs near 30th and Welton streets necessitate a 20-day closure. The repairs include replacing “a segment of one of the oldest sections of track on the RTD light rail system and improvements to the crossings at Downing and 30th Streets.”

RTD warns passengers of loud construction noise as its’ “contractor will remove and replace all track, paving, rail, ties, switches and ballast rock, [and] the rock beneath the rail, from the intersection of 30th and Welton streets through the southern end of 30th•Welton Station.”

Service will resume July 31st. During the 20-day closure, Welton Street will be closed at 30th, “and there will be a lane shift on 30th Street to accommodate construction of an ADA curb ramp,” and “southbound Downing Street will be closed at 30th Street” with California Street serving as a detour for traffic.

More information on street closures during the project can be found here.
