PUCO Approves Safety Upgrades in Stark County

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) approved safety upgrades in Stark County.
At the S.R. 93/Manchester Avenue Grade Crossing, Norfolk Southern will install flashing lights, gates, and cantilevers. These improvements will take place by September 4, 2025. The design and installation costs are required by PUCO and the Ohio Radio Development Commission (ORDC) by December 3rd.
Funds for safety improvements such as rumble strips during construction come from the State Grade Crossing Safety Fund and will not exceed $5,000 per project.
