ATLANTA –– Railway Track and Structures begins accepting nominations for the annual Top Projects recognition today through May 9.

The design, build, and completion of railroad infrastructure projects is certainly among the most exciting topics covered by RT&S . While these are presented throughout the year, we have an annual Top Projects feature where we identify what we and several engineering folks who work with us consider to be the top projects for the year, and we usually choose around ten. This feature appears in the June issue.

Another exciting part of this feature is that it’s built on reader nominations for the projects. If you or your team have been involved in a project, you can nominate it for consideration. If you’re aware of a great project, but weren’t involved in, you can nominate it as well. In this case, however, if you were not involved in the project, you should contact the project owner and ask them to provide you with key information about the project that is requested in the survey form accessible through the nomination link. Also, all nominated projects must be in North America (i.e., the U.S., Canada, or Mexico.)

We have opened the nomination link today, which you can find at the bottom of this story, and it will appear in other places so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to access the nomination portal. To be eligible for consideration, the project must involve infrastructure work on any size of common carrier railroad that is still underway or will be completed in 2024. If the project will not be complete in 2024, it must have begun no earlier than 2023. If you have questions about eligibility, please email David Lester at [email protected] or call me on 470.865.0933.

The DEADLINE for project nomination is Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Please complete this form to nominate a project for the 2024 Railway Track and Structures Top Projects recognition. Forms that have only been partially completed will not be considered. Also, previous project honorees are not eligible.

To review the 2023 RT&S Top Projects honorees, please check out the June 2023 issue of RT&S, beginning on page 9.
