Rail traffic was stopped prior to the collapse. The bridge is owned by BNSF and located east of Highway 87.
BNSF said in a statement: “Our engineering team has developed a bridge reconstruction plan that is currently underway to replace the timber structure with concrete and steel. The bridge will be out of service for a few days. In the interim, we are rerouting traffic based on origin and destination and working with Union Pacific to utilize existing trackage rights when applicable.”
